Exodus 19:3-6

What does it mean to truly live as the people of God? In Exodus 19, we find the Israelites at a pivotal moment -- rescued from slavery in Egypt and standing at the foot of God's holy mountain. But this passage reveals something deeper than a story of escape. It traces a profound progression: rescue, belonging, formation, and vocation. God does not simply free His people and send them off to figure things out on their own. Instead, He draws them to Himself, declares them His treasured possession, and begins the work of shaping who they are before He sends them out into the world. The spiritual insight here is both simple and striking -- grace comes first, always. God acts before we do. And that grace is not only for our salvation but for our ongoing transformation.
