Called to Love, Sent to Serve
Matthew 28:19
At Covenant, we believe that every follower of Jesus has a calling. For some, that calling leads to missions and service beyond themselves—sharing Christ’s love with neighbors nearby and with people across the world. We are committed to foreign, U.S., and local missions, seeing each as an opportunity to care for people in body, mind, and spirit. Whether it is meeting physical needs, offering emotional support, or sharing the hope of the gospel, our goal is always the same: to invite people into a relationship with Jesus and to become part of the Covenant family.

Missions We Support
At Covenant, we believe that God calls us to join His work both near and far. Below you’ll find the missions and ministries we partner with as a church—locally, across the United States, and around the world. These partners are extensions of our church’s heart for sharing Christ’s love in practical and spiritual ways.
You can be part of this work too! Each mission is strengthened by the prayers, time, and financial gifts of people like you. Together, we can make a lasting impact as we share the hope of Jesus with others.

Pastor Joshua (Kenya)
Covenant has been supporting Pastor Joshua and his mission project for many years. Funds have been used to help build five churches. A wing is soon to be added, which will be named after our dear friend, Diana Clem. They have been hit by drought, so funds have helped to build five cisterns to store water for use in the future.
Christian Mission Aid (Kenya)
Vernon Hodge is our liaison for CMA. Vernon has been active with the organization for 30 years. Their Christian Outreach aims to equip spiritual leaders in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, and, recently, Cambodia. The goal is to train leaders to be effective ministers of the word of God through one of the leading Christian charitable organizations, Christian Mission Aid. CMA provides these leaders with Bibles in their own language and bicycles to help them reach the communities.
Tim & Jennifer Goshorn (Peru)
Tim and Jennifer Goshorn are missionaries serving in Huancayo, Peru, a city located about 12,000 feet up in the Andes Mountains. They arrived in Peru in March of 2014 and have since built strong relationships with a local orphanage, helping to secure sponsors for several of the children to attend college.
They lead two different kids’ clubs and, although based in Huancayo, they also serve the growing population of Venezuelan refugees who have fled their country's humanitarian crisis. Many of these families make a difficult journey to Peru, and Tim and Jennifer continue to provide food and medical assistance to those in need.

Costa Rica Mission Trip
Jim Powell has been leading mission trips to Costa Rica for more than 30 years, and our next trip is scheduled for January 24–February 1, 2026. Since our team is made up of people from various churches and backgrounds, we serve together united in Christ.
Each day begins with worship in the amphitheater before the team goes out to minister in different ways—helping with construction projects, leading Vacation Bible School and Bible studies, and serving through a weekly feeding program that provides a nutritious meal to children in the community.
You are warmly invited to join us and be part of the 2026 mission team!

Mike Marshall - Sock Drive (Louisville)
Our own Mike Marshall began this ministry several years ago upon learning of the biggest need for the homeless in our area: SOCKS. He began by setting up boxes in our lobby, so we could donate Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s socks, and we have since grown to include Hats and gloves. Be on the lookout this winter for those boxes.
Mike has now passed away, but we continue to support the mission he started.

A Heart for Missions
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 1:8
Jesus’ final words to His disciples were not a suggestion but a calling. He reminded them—and us—that the gift of the Holy Spirit equips every believer to be a witness. Missions is not just for a select few; it is the natural outflow of a life touched by Christ. Whether across the street or across the world, every act of love, service, and testimony points people to the Savior.
When we pray for missionaries, give generously, or go and serve ourselves, we are stepping into the Great Commission. Missions is simply living out the love of Jesus so that others may know Him, experience His grace, and be welcomed into His family.
