Exodus 3:1-12

This profound exploration of Exodus 3 invites us to reconsider how close God truly is in our everyday lives. As we follow Moses through an ordinary day of shepherding sheep in the wilderness, we discover something extraordinary: he stumbles upon the mountain of God without even realizing it. This passage reveals at least seven distinct ways God makes His presence known—in the common routines of life, through supernatural events, via messengers both heavenly and human, in His written Word, with His people in life and death, in our suffering, and in our worship. The burning bush becomes more than just a miraculous sign; it represents all the ways God is calling out to us right now, in this moment. The challenge we face is not whether God is present, but whether we will turn aside long enough to notice. Like Moses, we need to cultivate two essential qualities: curiosity and courage. Curiosity keeps us attentive to where God is moving in our workplaces, families, friendships, and even in the pages of Scripture we might otherwise skip over. Courage empowers us to respond when we do notice God's presence, because following Him inevitably means transformation and stepping into impossibly difficult missions that can only be accomplished through His power. This message calls us to become intentionally attentive people, pausing in our busy lives to recognize the burning bushes all around us.
