Luke 14:15-24
In the Parable of the Great Banquet, Jesus tells the story of a host who prepares a feast and longs for his house to be filled. When the original guests decline the invitation with ordinary excuses, the host sends his servants out into the streets and lanes to invite others in.
This message explores what that parable reveals about the heart of God — a God who actively invites rather than reluctantly saves — and what it means for the church today.
A healthy church does not grow through programs alone, but through ordinary believers extending ordinary invitations. In this sermon, we consider how invitation reflects God’s character, why it often feels difficult, and how simple, relational practices can help us build a culture of kind-hearted welcome.
As we prepare to enter the season of Lent, this message challenges us to move from comfort to courage and to ask a simple question: Who might God be calling us to invite to the table?
