Luke 9:10-17

In Luke 9:10–17, a large crowd gathers to hear Jesus in a remote place. As the day grows late, the disciples begin to worry about how the people will find food. Their solution seems reasonable: send the crowd away. But Jesus responds with a surprising command: “You give them something to eat.”

This familiar story of the feeding of the five thousand reveals an important truth about compassion and discipleship. The disciples quickly realize that the need before them is far greater than what they can provide on their own. Yet Jesus takes what little they have, blesses it, and then places it back in their hands to distribute.

In this message we explore what happens when our compassion grows larger than our capacity to respond. Discover how Jesus invites ordinary disciples to participate in His work by receiving what He provides and sharing it with others.
