You’re Invited: Black History Month Worship Service

William Moore

Mark your calendars! We are excited to invite you to a very special Black History Month Worship Service on Sunday, February 23rd, at 10:00 AM. This service, themed "Dreaming with the Dreamer," will be a powerful time of worship, reflection, and celebration as we honor the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and embrace the message of Isaiah 43:18-19: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?"

Joining us for this meaningful occasion are our friends from LaGrange Christian Church and Centennial Missionary Baptist Church. Pastors George Trinn and Norris Beckley will join Pastor William Moore to deliver a shared message of hope, justice, and unity, reflecting on how God's transformative power continues to inspire new dreams of peace and reconciliation.

Music will be a highlight of the service, drawing from the rich musical tradition of the African American church. We’ll lift our voices in stirring Gospel hymns and songs of the civil rights movement—music that has carried generations through times of struggle and triumph with hope and faith.

After the service, we’ll gather for a potluck meal—a wonderful opportunity to enjoy fellowship and deepen our connections with one another. Please bring a dish or dessert to share as we celebrate the unity we have in Christ.

This promises to be a joyful and inspiring time together, as we reflect on both the dreams of the past and the new things God is bringing to life among us. Let’s come together as one body to worship, build bridges of understanding, and continue living out Dr. King’s dream of a world shaped by love and justice.

We look forward to seeing you on February 23rd. Come ready to worship, eat and celebrate with us!
